Corona vaccination has started for children in the age group of 12 to 14 years. It was started on the occasion of National Immunization Day. Beneficiaries in this age group will only be vaccinated against Corbevax developed by Hyderabad-based Biologicals-E. Apart from online registration, beneficiaries will also be able to get the vaccine directly by visiting the vaccination center. In the country, 4,74,73,000 children of this age group will be covered in the immunization programme.

The Center has clearly told all the states that children below the age of 12 years cannot be included in the vaccination. Before giving the vaccine, it will be the responsibility of the Chief Officer of the said center to vaccinate the child only after checking the age-related document. Their age should be between 12 to 14 years as on March 2022. That is, only children born between 2008 and 2010 will be given this vaccine.

Two doses to be taken at an interval of 28 days

The Union Health Ministry has also shared a list with the states according to which there are 1,21,43,000 boys and 1,13,27,000 girls between the ages of 12 and 13 in the country. Similarly, there are 1,22,50,000 boys and 1,14,23,000 girls aged between 13 and 14 who are required to give two doses of Corbevax at an interval of 28 days.

Those above 60 years of age will be able to get booster dose

The Health Secretary said that people above 60 years of age are being given precautionary doses. In this, priority should be given to those people who have been more than nine months after taking the second dose. So far, about one crore 87 lakh people have been given the first dose and about 1.5 crore have been given the second dose. In such a situation, those people whose time for the second dose has been nine months, they will be given a precautionary dose. Precautionary doses will be given from the same company, whose two doses have been given earlier.

Vaccination will be focused on children at high risk

Dr. DK Arora, Chairman of the National Technical Advisory Group of Immunization (NTAGI), Kovid-19 Working Group, says that our primary focus is on children already suffering from such diseases, but due to no such data available, all children The decision to vaccinate has been made.
