Chinese Mobile Phones: To curb Chinese smartphones in India, the news of a ban on Chinese mobile phones cheaper than Rs 12000 has created panic across the country. Meanwhile, news from Germany has created panic in the Chinese mobile industry. Actually, Oppo and OnePlus have been banned from selling their smartphones in Germany. Not only this, other countries of the European Union (EU) can also ban these two Chinese mobile companies like Germany. After this ban, now these two mobile companies will not be able to sell their phones in the German market.

why the ban

The reason behind Germany banning Chinese mobile companies is the ongoing patent dispute with Nokia. Nokia had dragged these two companies to court some time back. In early July this year, the Mannheim District Court, Germany ruled in favor of Nokia and found that Oppo and OnePlus did not have valid licenses for the 5G technology used in their smartphones.

compromise failed

The court ordered both the parties to reach a settlement in terms of license fee, failing which, it would be forced to impose a sales ban on Oppo smartphones. After the court action, OnePlus and Oppo have been found guilty and now both these companies will not be able to sell their smartphones in Germany as a punishment.

What is the matter of Oppo Oneplus Ban

Chinese companies Oppo and OnePlus are selling their 5G mobiles across Europe, including Germany. Meanwhile, Finnish company Nokia had alleged that the patent for the 5G technology that these two companies are using in their smartphones is only with Nokia. After hearing this case, the Munich Court has convicted Oppo and OnePlus.

Cases in these countries after Germany

The problems for Oppo and OnePlus are not only in Germany, but Nokia is also fighting cases against these two Chinese brands in France, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands and Great Britain. If Chinese companies lose the case here too, then the European market can be snatched from their hands. Which will be a big blow for China.

There is also a flurry of ban in India

The news published in Bloomberg just two days ago has made Chinese companies sleepless. According to the news, the Indian government can ban smartphones up to $ 150 i.e. Rs 12000. If this decision is taken, then Chinese companies doing business in India such as Xiaomi, Redmi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Infinix and Tecno may fall.
