Anil Chauhan: Speaking on the topic 'Future Wars and Warfare' during a seminar held in Pune, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan spoke openly on India's military policy, future war strategies and Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. In his speech, he made it clear that India is no longer a country that works under the pressure of terrorism or threats of nuclear war. Background of Pahalgam terror attack and Operation SindoorGeneral Chauhan said that the terrorist attack in Pahalgam had crossed all limits of cruelty. Pakistan-sponsored terrorism was behind this attack, and to respond to it, India carried out Operation Sindoor. This operation, which was earlier planned to last for 48 hours, was successfully completed by the Indian Army in just 8 hours. He said that "professional armies do not think about losses, they only focus on results."India's edge in drone warfare capabilityThe CDS highlighted India's modern military capabilities and said that India is far ahead of Pakistan in drone and counter-drone technology. He reiterated that Pakistan must rein in terrorism as India is no longer a country to keep quiet.Politics and war: two streams, one streamGeneral Chauhan also explained the social and political aspects of war. “In every war, violence and the politics behind it are the main components. The third important aspect is communication, which is always there,” he said. He also revealed that during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan had taken the initiative to talk to India, which makes it clear that both India's diplomacy and military action have been effective.
Pakistan's conspiracy and India's firmnessThe CDS exposed Pakistan's mindset, saying that it plots to bleed India by "giving it a thousand wounds". He recalled that in 1965, Pakistan leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had threatened a "thousand years of war" against India at the United Nations. Recently, Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir also spewed venom against India and Hindus.Morale and introspection: The hallmark of military professionalsConcluding his address, General Chauhan said that failures are inevitable in war, but they should not affect morale. "The important thing is to understand the mistakes, correct them and move forward again. Sitting back in fear is not an option," he said.
