New Delhi : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has been served a notice to vacate her government bungalow in the high-security Gupkar area. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said, 'The eviction notice from Fair View was given to me a few days ago. This is not surprising and is as expected.

Mufti said that it has been mentioned in the notice that the bungalow is for the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, but it is not so. "This place was allotted to my father (Mufti Mohammad Sayeed) in December 2005, when he left the chief minister's post. Therefore, the grounds given by the administration are not correct.

Will take advice from legal team: Mehbooba

When asked whether she would challenge the notice in a court of law, the PDP chief said she would consult her legal team. He said, 'I don't have a place where I can live. So I have to consult my legal team before taking a decision.' Meanwhile, there is news that in view of the security of Mehbooba Mufti, another alternative house has been arranged for her.

'The bungalow was found on the basis of security'

PDP youth general secretary Mohit Bhat said the bungalow was provided to former chief minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in 2005 on security grounds. Mufti Sahib wanted to move to his Naugam residence on the outskirts of the city. At that time he was not allowed to go to Nowgam. It is clear that this residence has nothing to do with the CM or the former CM, but it is purely a matter of security.
