MP commits suicide to avoid mob lynching

An MP of the ruling party also died in this violence. Reports have come to the fore that the MP first committed suicide by shooting himself for fear of firing at the protesters and then mob lynching. After the death of the MP, the police engaged in the investigation said that the car of MP Amarkirti Athukorla was surrounded by protesters near Nittambuva town. During this, Amarkirti Athukorla started firing on the protesters. Two people were shot, one of whom later died. After firing on the protesters, MP Amarkirti Athukorla was surrounded by a mob, after which he committed suicide by shooting himself.
