Pahalgam Terror Attack: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a very important and confidential high-level meeting at his residence today. The meeting was attended by top officials related to the country's security, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defense Staff and the chiefs of the three armies (Army, Air Force and Navy). The meeting lasted for more than an hour and its main focus was the discussion on possible military strategies against Pakistan.

This meeting was called at a time when there is an atmosphere of anger and concern in the country regarding the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack. In this attack, 26 innocent tourists were brutally killed, which has not only shocked the countrymen but has also made the national security system very active.

Army got free hand

After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi clarified that the Indian Army has been given complete freedom to take any kind of action against Pakistan. He said, "I have full faith in my army. The army should set its target according to its own to respond to Pakistan." He also reiterated that India will not tolerate terrorism under any circumstances and will give a decisive and strong response to it.

The Prime Minister said that operational decisions—such as the method of action, its timing and target—have been left entirely to the discretion of the forces. The message is clearly to give the army the freedom to take decisive action, so that a strong message can be given to Pakistan.

Strategic signal and national resolve

All the top officials related to defense and security present in the meeting reviewed the current situation and discussed possible counter steps. PM Modi said that "It is our firm national resolve to give a befitting reply to terrorism." This statement not only reassures the country but also symbolizes India's seriousness and commitment to protect sovereignty at the international level.

Strictness was expressed earlier too

It is worth noting that after the attack in Pahalgam, when the Prime Minister was on a state visit to Saudi Arabia, he had said in clear words that India will not tolerate terrorism under any circumstances. This meeting is being considered a sequel to that tough stand.
