Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive 'Vijay Sankalp Rally' in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, as the campaigning for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections drew to a close. During his speech, the Prime Minister made a bold declaration, stating that this was his final rally of the current election cycle and that his next visit to the state would be for the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) swearing-in ceremony. He noted that the land of Barrackpore is paving the way for a wave of change, expressing confidence that the results on May 4 would lead to a BJP government.
Confidence in Victory and Public Support
Reflecting on the massive turnout, PM Modi mentioned that the enthusiasm of the people even in the sweltering heat has convinced him of the impending victory, while "This is my last rally in this election. I am going back with the confidence that after the results on May 4, I will definitely attend the BJP's swearing-in ceremony," he said. He recounted his journey from the helipad to the rally ground, noting that thousands of people lined the two-kilometer stretch to offer their blessings, an experience that further boosted his morale.
Spiritual Connection and Personal Bond
The Prime Minister spoke about his deep personal connection with the people, stating that they're his family. He shared his emotional state, saying, "When the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla was organized in Ayodhya in January 2024, I observed an 11-day ritual. In this election, I've felt a similar spiritual experience, akin to visiting a Devi temple, while " He emphasized that serving and securing Bengal is both his destiny and his responsibility, which he intends to fulfill diligently.
The Vision of Purvodaya: Ang, Bang, and Kalinga
Highlighting India's historical prosperity, PM Modi referred to the three strong pillars of the past: Ang (Bihar), Bang (Bengal), and Kalinga (Odisha). He explained that when these pillars weakened, India's overall strength suffered. He asserted that the goal of a 'Developed India' is incomplete without 'Purvodaya' (the rise of the East). According to the Prime Minister, the resurgence of the East is the greatest strength for India's future, and the strengthening of Bengal is central to this vision.
Attack on TMC's 'Maha-Jungle Raj'
Launching a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), PM Modi contrasted the closure of employment-generating mills with the flourishing of crude bomb factories that employ goons. He described this as "TMC's Maha-Jungle Raj" and alleged that the party lacks a roadmap for Bengal's future. He claimed that the TMC's 'Syndicate' shops are expanding while the state's interests are being neglected. He called for the defeat of the TMC to establish the rule of 'Janata Janardan' (the people) under the BJP.
Concluding his address, PM Modi stated that while 'Vande Mataram' was once the mantra for liberation from slavery, it must now become the mantra for the reconstruction of Bengal in the 21st century. He reiterated his commitment to saving Bengal from the challenges it faces and promised that the BJP would bring an end to the syndicate culture, ensuring a bright future for the state's citizens.
