New Delhi : There will be a meeting between the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon. The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the G20 Leadership Summit to be held in Indonesia in mid-November. Significantly, Indian-origin Rishi Sunak has recently become the Prime Minister of Britain. After this the Indian Prime Minister spoke to him on the phone. During this conversation, both the leaders agreed about the meeting.

Statement from British PM's Office

A statement has been issued in this regard from the British Prime Minister's Office, 10 Downing Street. According to the statement, the two leaders will work together as representatives of the two best republics. Also expressed commitment to the economic development of developing countries. During this, an agreement was reached between the two leaders for a personal meeting during the G-20 meeting. It has also been told in the statement that during the conversation, PM Modi wished Rishi Sunak on behalf of the Indians.

Focus on FTA

The Prime Minister is among the few leaders from around the world who spoke to the British Prime Minister over the phone. During this, PM Modi stressed on the early settlement of the free trade agreement between the two countries. In Britain, this issue was to be resolved by Diwali during the former Prime Minister, but due to political instability there it is still pending. After talking to Rishi Sunak, PM Modi congratulated him by tweeting.
