Every time in the Lok Sabha elections, Puri seat remains at the center of discussion. Let us tell you that Puri seat has been the stronghold of Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal for more than two decades. However, in the Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, BJP's Sambit Patra gave a tough competition to the BJD candidate. Therefore, BJP will once again make every effort to win this seat. In the last election, Pinaki Mishra got 5,38,321 votes while Sambit Patra got 5,26,607 votes. The margin of defeat was 11,714 votes.
