In Odisha, a woman police officer has been suspended for inhuman treatment of a pregnant woman from a tribal community. The pregnant woman was forced to walk three kilometers to reach the police station. Indeed, Bikram Biruli, a resident of Matkami Sahi village under Sarat police station in Mayurbhanj district, was taking an eight-month pregnant wife by bike for an ultrasound checkup in Udala. Then the wife was not wearing a helmet. They stopped while checking in on the way. At that time officer in charge of Sarat police station Reena Baxal was also present there.

Bikram was asked to pay the fine after cutting the challan. On this Bikram said that he does not have money and he is taking pregnant wife for checkup. He also said that you cut and give the challan, later I will submit it to RTO. But one of hers was not heard and she was taken in a car and taken to the police station. The wife stood there. After waiting for a long time, the pregnant woman started walking towards the police station. After walking three kilometers, she reached the police station.

Surprisingly, despite being a woman, the police officer did not understand the condition of the pregnant woman. He had to walk three kilometers in the scorching sun. Bikram told, "I asked the police officer to put the wife in the car as well, but she was not made to sit. I was kept in lockup in the police station for three hours. ”

According to Bikram's claim, he had all the papers of the bike, just the wife was not wearing a helmet. OIC Reena Baxal was suspended on Monday by Mayurbhanj SP Parmar Samit Purushottam Das after an investigation based on the allegations of the victim's husband Bikram. The suspension order reads, "The OIC Sarat police station is suspended with immediate effect due to misbehavior and negligence in service and is attached to the Baripada headquarters."
