UP News: Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to increase the prices of liquor. In the cabinet meeting, the decision to increase the basic license fees of foreign liquor, beer and cannabis model shops by 10 percent was also approved. During this time, the proposal to implement the excise policy with new amendments from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 has also been approved. State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna had earlier said that a total of 20 proposals were received in the meeting, out of which 19 have been approved.

Many major changes in excise policy

According to the information received, the proposal regarding wine plants has also been approved in the cabinet meeting. Amendment to the rules for making wine from fruits has also been approved for making wine from other types of wine (apple, white grapes, pear). The proposal to implement the excise policy with new amendments from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 has been approved. There will be 4 categories under this which include:

  • Liquor of 25%, 36% strength will now be made from molasses.
  • Now 36% strength is approved in grain manufacturing liquor instead of 42.8% strength.
  • There will be e-renewal of about 29 thousand shops in the state.
  • Country liquor quota has been increased by 10%

The biggest decision of the UP government is regarding increasing the prices of liquor. This decision is going to have an impact on the pockets of liquor lovers. According to the information received, the prices of foreign liquor will be increased by Rs 5 in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2024-25. At the same time, the price of country liquor has also been said to increase by only Rs 5. Now getting the license of foreign liquor, beer and cannabis model shop is also going to be expensive. Their basic license fees are going to increase by 10 percent.
