Throughout his cricket career, Yuvraj played many match-defining knocks to bail India out from the crunch situations and take them closer to victory. His exploits helped the team in lifting two prestigious trophies namely the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC World Cup. While Yuvraj was a notable personality in limited-overs cricket, he failed to weave the same magic in the purest format of the game. In his illustrious international career of 17 years, the left-hander played a stunning 304 One Day Internationals and 58 T20 Internationals scoring 8701 and 1177 runs respectively at a strike rate of 87.7 and 136.4 respectively. He also picked 111 ODI scalps and 28 T20I wickets at an economy rate of 5.10 and 7.06 respectively. While Yuvraj boasts of having remarkable numbers to his name in 50-overs and shortest format, the same can’t be said for the Test format. The 39-year-old made his debut in the longest format in 2003 with a match against New Zealand. Yuvraj Singh featured in 40 Test matches In his entire career, the batter could feature in just 40 Test matches scoring 1900 runs and picking 9 wickets. Yuvraj Singh isn’t happy with the way his Test cricket panned out and he hinted towards the same with his latest tweet. On May 19, Wisden India made a post on their social media handle where they asked the cricket fans to name the cricketer who should have donned Whites for a longer period in his cricket career. The news portal posted a picture of Yuvraj Singh with the same. “Which former Indian cricketer do you wish played more Tests?” Wisden tweeted. The tweet by Wisden caught the attention of veteran Indian all-rounder too and he took a jibe at the Indian team management for cutting short his Test career. Replying to the post, Yuvraj gave a sarcastic reply saying that he will probably be able to play more Test cricket in his next life only when he isn’t made 12th man for as many as seven years. “Probably next life! When I’m not 12th man for 7 years”
