Russia : The withdrawal of the army from the important city of Ukraine is nothing less than a major setback for Russia. Russia's military has announced it is withdrawing from the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson and its surrounding areas. Meanwhile, a US official has claimed that more than a million soldiers of Putin's army have been killed. Putin is withdrawing his army after a heavy downpour. This will be considered another humiliating blow for Russia in this battle that has been going on for the last eight months. However, Ukrainian officials did not immediately confirm the move. In recent days, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russians are masquerading as moving from Kherson to implicate their ploy. Zelensky called the attempt to persuade civilians to enter the Russian-controlled "battlefield" as a "drama".
The top US general said that more than a million Russian soldiers have been killed and millions wounded during the war in Ukraine. Speaking at an event at The Economic Club of New York, General Mark Milley, president of the Joint Chiefs, said that Ukraine has probably killed the same number of soldiers. "More than 100,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and wounded," CNN quoted General Mark Milley as saying.
He said that the same may have happened with Ukraine. In his remarks to The Economic Club of New York, General Mark Milley called Russia's military invasion of Ukraine "a big mistake". He said that Russia would compensate for this war "for many years to come." He stressed that the war between Russia and Ukraine that began in February has caused tremendous human suffering. In which 1.5 million to 30 million refugees and about 40,000 civilians have died.
As reported by CNN, General Mark Milley said that one way to end the war could be through dialogue. He said that during the winter when the forward front will stabilize, then perhaps there can be talk. He emphasized that it should be recognized that this war cannot be won militarily. "There has to be a mutual recognition that this cannot be won militarily, and so you need to turn to other methods," CNN quoted General Mark Milley as saying. "When you get an opportunity to negotiate to achieve peace, don't waste it," he said. Speaking about US support for Ukraine, Milley said that Washington would continue to provide military aid to Kyiv even if the war did not stop.
