EU Commitment to Ukraine's Aerial Defense

1 billion euros, has been allocated to enhance Ukraine's aerial strength. The European Union leadership has emphasized that this package will enable Ukraine to acquire essential Patriot equipment. This technology is considered vital for protecting Ukrainian airspace from indiscriminate attacks. Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Union, stated that the organization will continue to provide unwavering support to Ukraine, while she highlighted that the security of Europe is a collective responsibility and asserted that European security can't be fully ensured without a secure Ukraine.

Canada Joins Support with 2420 Crore Aid

The international support for Ukraine extends beyond the European Union, while on September 10, Canada also agreed to provide a significant aid package worth 2420 crore rupees. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney explained that this decision was made to strengthen Ukraine's defense systems. Carney noted that as Russia intensifies its barbaric air war, which frequently targets civilian populations indiscriminately, the necessity for solid air defense in Ukraine has become more critical than ever. This contribution from Canada is aimed at ensuring that Ukraine has the resources needed to protect its citizens and infrastructure.

Putin's Diplomatic Mission in New Delhi

While these aid announcements are being made, President Vladimir Putin has arrived in New Delhi to attend the BRICS meeting. Beyond the summit, Putin is also scheduled to participate in bilateral talks with Indian officials to discuss mutual interests. This visit marks the second time Putin has traveled to New Delhi since the commencement of the Russia-Ukraine war. His previous visit to the Indian capital took place in December 2025.
