Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached among the brave security personnel deployed in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, and celebrated the auspicious festival of Deepawali with them. During his address among the jawans, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a very significant and major statement, saying that the threat isn't over yet because while naxals have been eradicated from the forests, ideological naxals still exist. The Prime Minister also clarified that when a country's internal security is strong, external enemies can't harm it, and when this same internal security is weak, external enemies dominate the country. This visit and address by the Prime Minister are considered a historic step towards strengthening internal security and boosting the morale of the security forces.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his address by stating that today, millions of Indians across the country and in every corner of the world are celebrating the auspicious festival of lights, Diwali. People are returning to their homes and loved ones. This is a very special occasion for families to celebrate the festival together. In this context, he mentioned that he has also arrived among the jawans to celebrate Diwali. The sentinels of the country and the brave sons and daughters of Mother India who protect the nation at the borders and within the country, all of you're members of my family. The Prime Minister said that you're all part of my family and this time he has come to celebrate Diwali with the jawans in the forests of Bastar. This is the very land where the terror of naxalism once prevailed, but due to your sacrifice and dedication, the threat of naxalism has ended from this very region today and a new stream of development has begun.
Discussing the uniqueness of this year's Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the Diwali of two thousand twenty six is very special. He said that after a long gap of forty to fifty years, such a Diwali has come for the jawans. This is the first such Diwali when the country has achieved a historic victory in the decades-long battle against naxalism and Maoist terror, while this is the first Diwali when every single district of the country is completely free from naxalism. This is the first Diwali when millions of citizens have been permanently liberated from the fear and terror of naxalism. The Prime Minister emphasized that this is a truly extraordinary achievement and a very large share of the credit for this success goes to all the brave jawans of the country. It's the result of the indomitable courage of millions of brave jawans and security forces like you, because of which he has come to celebrate this festival with the jawans today.
Earlier this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared information through a post on his social media platform X that he's going to Bastar to celebrate the Diwali festival with our brave security forces. The Prime Minister mentioned in his post that this is the same area where naxalism once dominated and now development is progressing very rapidly in this very region. After arriving in Bastar, the Prime Minister termed this as the first Diwali of the jawans after achieving complete victory over naxalism and extended heartfelt congratulations to all the jawans for this major achievement.
The Prime Minister praised the valor of the jawans profusely for this historic victory against naxalism and deeply bowed to the sacrifice of the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. Remembering the old days, he said that there was a time when for every naxal killed, a larger number of our brave jawans were martyred, while at that time, the top leaders of naxalite organizations used to celebrate their victories. The unfortunate situation was that the governments of that time dismissed naxalism as an incurable disease and left it as it's, accepting that this problem would just continue this way and couldn't be changed.
Strongly criticizing such old thinking and working methodology, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in clear words that no country can ever move forward with this casual approach of 'it will go on like this'. To take the country forward on the path of development and to deal with enemies, their high morale must be crushed. The lack of strong political will required for this was addressed in two thousand fourteen, while the people of the country gave this prime servant a golden opportunity to serve Mother India, and since then, the country's conditions and statistics began to change rapidly.
Referring to the statistics, the Prime Minister stated that conditions changed completely after two thousand fourteen. Earlier, there was always discussion among us that our jawans were being killed by naxals in greater numbers compared to the security forces. However, in the last forty-seven years, this has happened for the first time in history that not a single jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force, known as CRPF, had to lose their life during an entire year. The Prime Minister said that this is solely the historic victory of our jawans' indomitable valor, their extraordinary courage, and their disciplined restraint. To achieve any major goal, having the right intentions and the right policies is always extremely necessary.
Speaking about the policies of previous governments regarding security forces, Prime Minister Modi said that previous governments always kept the hands of our security forces tied. However, our government gave security forces complete freedom and leeway to make every necessary decision. Along with this, wherever left-wing extremism received any kind of support, we also did the major work of stopping all those channels. We were continuously moving forward with a very large and clear goal. Our sole objective was that no mother's lap should ever remain empty and the future of no youth in the country should be ruined by falling prey to this violence.
Reiterating his government's resolve, the Prime Minister said that until this grand goal of ours was completely fulfilled, we remained steadily and dedicatedly committed to our resolve, while during this period, we didn't do any kind of publicity or show-off. Working on the ground with complete sensitivity, we broke the back of Maoist terrorism forever. The peace and tranquility visible in Bastar and other parts of the country today are the direct result of this unwavering resolve and right policies. This inspiring address by the Prime Minister once again proved that the country's internal security is the government's top priority and respecting the jawans is respecting the nation.
