Rahul Gandhi Slams Govt in Lok Sabha: 'We Won't Allow Delimitation, Govt is Scared'

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the government in Lok Sabha over women's reservation and delimitation. He alleged a conspiracy to alter India's electoral map and vowed that the opposition would block any attempts to snatch representation from Southern states.

During the special session of Parliament, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, expressed his views on women's reservation and delimitation, while he described women as a driving force of national thought, stating that everyone is influenced by and learns from the women in their lives. The Congress leader presented his party's stance on the Women's Reservation Bill, emphasizing the role of women in society.

Personal Influence and Support for Reservation

He recalled his childhood fear of the dark and how his grandmother taught him to fight that fear. While stating that the Congress party supports the Women's Reservation Bill, he pointed out that the bill had already been passed in 2023. He alleged that the current move is an attempt to change the country's electoral map rather than a genuine effort for women's empowerment.

Uproar in Lok Sabha and Demand for Apology

The Lok Sabha witnessed significant chaos during Rahul Gandhi's speech. MPs and ministers from the ruling party objected to several of his statements. Allegations Regarding Delimitation and Regional Representation

Rahul Gandhi claimed that the government is scared due to its reduced strength in Parliament. " He further alleged that there is an attempt to snatch power from OBCs, Dalits, and Muslims. According to him, the government is using the Women's Reservation Bill as a shield to hide its real intention of redrawing the political map of India.

Caste Census and Representation Concerns

The Congress leader accused the central government of avoiding giving power and representation to the OBC category. He claimed the government's agenda is to ensure that for the next 15 years, the caste census has no connection with representation. Rahul Gandhi asserted that the BJP is trying to snatch representation from Southern, Northeastern, and smaller states to remain in power. He termed these actions as 'anti-national' and declared that the entire opposition would unite to defeat such moves.
