According to the Meteorological Department, there may be more rain in September than in August. In such a situation, the month of September can bring relief from the heat for the people of the state.

Monsoon, which came 20 days late in UP, can now rain heavily in September. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning regarding this. According to the Meteorological Department, 44 percent rainfall has been deficient since the onset of monsoon this year. In view of the monsoon, it was estimated that this time there will be more than 600 mm of rain, but till August this figure of rain could not cross even 350 mm. Only 343.6 mm of rain remained. According to the Meteorological Department, there was 23.2 mm of rain in June, but in July it rained 210 mm and in August it reduced to 110 mm. In September, the average rainfall over the entire UP has been predicted to be 110 percent more than the normal.

The districts where the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding rain include Lucknow, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Sant Kabirnagar, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Sonbhadra and Chandauli.

Meerut recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the second highest in 122 years. Prior to this, the record for the highest temperature in 122 years was recorded on 29 September 1968. The maximum temperature in Meerut on this day was 39 degree Celsius. If this situation continues, in the next few weeks, September can see severe heat like June and record temperature of 40 degree Celsius.
