The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is set to resume its proceedings today, Monday, after a two-day break. According to the assembly secretariat, the session will commence at 11:00 AM with the Question Hour. This session marks a critical phase as the opposition prepares to challenge the government on various public interest issues and administrative functioning. Today also marks the third day of the general discussion on the state budget.
Question Hour and Departmental Queries
A total of 47 questions have been listed for today's Question Hour. This includes 23 starred questions, which require oral answers from the respective ministers on the floor of the house, and 24 unstarred questions for which written replies will be tabled. According to the official agenda, the queries primarily focus on departments such as Agriculture, Industry, Education, Social Justice and Empowerment, Revenue, Cooperatives, and Energy. Legislators are expected to seek clarity on departmental performance and the status of pending projects.
Allegations of Irregularities in Development Works
The session will witness significant attention through Calling Attention motions. MLA Lalit Yadav is scheduled to raise the issue of alleged irregularities in development works carried out between 2020 and January 2024 in Sorkha Kalan village of Mundawar Panchayat Samiti, located in the Khairthal-Tijara district. On top of that, MLA Sandeep Sharma will draw the government's attention toward the conservation and rejuvenation of Daulatganj, Rangbari, and Kala Talab in Kota city.
Third Day of General Discussion on Budget
Today is the third day of the general debate on the state budget. Over the past two days, the ruling party has highlighted the budget's focus on growth, while the opposition has pointed out several perceived shortcomings. Lawmakers from various constituencies will present their views on budget allocations and regional requirements today. According to the Department of Parliamentary Affairs, the government is expected to provide the final reply to the budget discussion tomorrow, Tuesday.
Public Petitions and Local Infrastructure Issues
Several public interest petitions are slated to be presented in the house today. These include the demand for lining raw drains in the Borkheda area of Kota, the upgradation of the Junior Engineer's office to an Assistant Engineer's office in Bagru, and the construction of an indoor stadium in Siwana. Plus, petitions regarding the improvement of the drainage system in Ahore and the resolution of drinking water scarcity in Solankiya village of the Shiv constituency will also be tabled for consideration.
