Know what's special

Rajasthan's first Vande Bharat Express train will be inaugurated in Jaipur at 11 am today. The train will run on the track for the first time from here and will reach Delhi Cantt. However, the daily schedule of the train will be from Ajmer to Delhi Cantt and it will run as per daily schedule from 13th April.

Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express train will cover a distance of more than 400 kms in 5 hours 15 minutes. This train will stop at Jaipur, Alwar and Gurugram. The current fastest train on this route, Ajmer-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, has an official travel time of 6 hours 15 minutes. This shows that the speed of Vande Bharat will be more than Shatabdi.

According to the news of news agency Hindustan, the train will run for the whole week except Wednesday. However, the official schedule is yet to be announced.

According to the PMO, the Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat High-Rise Overhead Electric (OHE) will be the world's first- semi-high speed train on the sector.

Launched in February 2019, Vande Bharat Express currently operates on 13 routes. This includes three services (Bhopal-Hazrat Nizamuddin, Chennai-Coimbatore and Secunderabad-Tirupati) launched earlier this month.
