The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has provided a significant update in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, while the CBI has filed its closure report in the Patna Court, completely exonerating Rhea Chakraborty. According to the report, Sushant Singh Rajput's death was a suicide, and no concrete evidence of abetment to suicide has been found against Rhea Chakraborty or any other accused.
However, Sushant Singh Rajput's family is far from satisfied with the CBI's closure report. The family has decided to challenge the report in court, labeling it as 'superficial and incomplete. ' Varun Singh, the family's lawyer, stated that the CBI didn't submit supporting. Documents like chats, witness statements, bank records, and medical reports along with its charge sheet. He believes the investigating agency overlooked several crucial pieces of evidence and that the investigation is merely a facade. The family will file a protest petition against this report in the Patna Court on December 20.
Key Points of the CBI Closure Report
The CBI report concludes that Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide. The report indicates that between June 8, 2020, and June 14, 2020 (the day Sushant's body was found), no accused person was living with Sushant. Rhea and her brother Showik left Sushant's home on June 8 and didn't visit his flat afterward, while sushant had a WhatsApp conversation with Showik on June 10, but there was no communication between Sushant and Rhea from June 8 to June 14. The investigation found no evidence that Rhea or her family instigated, pressured, or threatened Sushant into committing suicide.
Financial Angle of the Investigation
Regarding the financial aspect, the investigation revealed that when Rhea left Sushant's flat on June 8, she took her Apple laptop and an Apple wrist watch gifted by Sushant. There was no evidence found of any property being taken from Sushant's estate without his knowledge. Sushant and Rhea were in a live-in relationship from April 2018 to June 2020. Sushant had told his roommate, Siddharth Pithani, that Rhea was 'part of the family,' hence expenses incurred on Rhea couldn't be considered cheating under IPC Section 420. No movable property was given to Rhea. The Patna Court will hear the CBI's closure report on December 20.
