Population Control: Dattatreya Hosabale, the Sarkaryavah of the RSS, has expressed concern about the population explosion and demanded a policy for population control. Along with this, he called for strict implementation of laws against conversion. Addressing the RSS's All India Executive Board meeting in Prayagraj, he said that "population imbalance" is being created in the country due to conversions and infiltration from Bangladesh. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also attended the meeting of the All India Executive Board of the Sangh held in Prayagraj from 16 to 19 October.

Ghar Wapsi has yielded good results: Dattatreya Hosabole

Addressing reporters at a school campus at Yamunapar Gauhaniya, 25 km from the district headquarters in Prayagraj, Dattatreya Hosabale said the organization is trying to create awareness on conversions. Along with this, he said that 'Ghar Wapsi' has yielded good results. 'Ghar Wapsi' is an effort of the Sangh Parivar to bring back those who converted to Islam and Christianity to Hinduism.

'Need to strictly enforce law against conversion'

Dattatreya Hosabale said that laws have been made to stop conversions, but these laws need to be strictly implemented. He said this in the context of related laws in some states including Uttar Pradesh which prohibit conversion by force or inducement.

Expressing concern over the conversions, Dattatreya Hosabale said, 'The number of Hindus is decreasing due to conversion and due to population imbalance, there has been a situation of division in many countries. The partition of India has also happened due to population imbalance. Therefore, a population policy should be made applicable to all. “The second reason for population imbalance is infiltration. Population imbalance has also been seen in districts like Purnia, Katihar and other states of North Bihar via Bangladesh.

Reservation should not be given after conversion: Dattatreya

On the issue of reservation benefits to Scheduled Caste people after conversion, Dattatreya Hosabale said, 'The Sangh has already said that those who convert should not get the facility of reservation.' He said that to decide on this issue, a committee has been constituted by the government under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan, which will study the matter and give its report.

Hosbale said that in the meeting, discussions were also held on increasing the participation of women in various activities in the Hindu society. He said, 'Women are going to every sphere of the society and their participation in the decision-making process should also increase in social work'.
