Russia's National Counter-Terrorism Committee said the fire also caught fire in the coaches of a cargo train passing through the bridge, and that two sections of the bridge partially collapsed. Traffic has been suspended after this incident.

The fire broke out hours after explosions in eastern Ukraine's Kharkiv city early Saturday, sending a plume of smoke into the sky. This fire was seen burning from a long distance.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said on Telegram that the early morning blast was the result of missile strikes in the city centre. He said the blasts caused fire to a medical institute and a non-residential building in the city. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
