The Shetty duo has got a direct selection in the squad for these games.

Saina is a two-time Commonwealth Games winner

To bring transparency in the selection this time, BAI has decided to conduct trials for Commonwealth, Asian, Thomas-Uber Cup, in which shuttlers ranked 16 to 50 and shuttlers ranked first 16 in the national rankings will play till March 29. The Commonwealth Games team will have five men and five women, while the Asian Games and Thomas-Uber Cup squads will have 20 members, with 10 men and 10 women shuttlers.

BAI will also finalize the probables for the senior core group for the 2024 Olympic Games during the trials. In the singles trial, B Sai Praneeth, Sameer Verma, Parupalli Kashyap, Malvika Bansod, Ashmit Chaliha, Akarshi Kashyap, N Sikki Reddy, Ashwani Ponnappa, Tasneem Mir, Unnati Hooda, Gayatri Gopichand, Trisha Jolly will play.
