Maharashtra Politics: The Election Commission has given its decision on the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) controversy in Maharashtra. Giving a big blow to the Sharad Pawar faction, the Election Commission has considered Ajit Pawar faction as the real NCP. The Election Commission has given its verdict after more than 10 hearings on the NCP party dispute. Along with this, the Election Commission has also handed over the name and symbol to Ajit Pawar group. Earlier, the Election Commission had given a big blow to the Uddhav Thackeray faction in the Shiv Sena party dispute case and had described the Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena.

The Commission in its decision followed the prescribed tests of maintainability of the petition which included the test of aims and objectives in view of the party constitution, the test of party constitution, the test of majority both organizational and legislative. At the same time, the Election Commission has given special permission to Sharad Pawar faction in view of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. Sharad Pawar faction will now have to send the proposal for a new election symbol to the Election Commission.

Election Commission had given a similar decision in the Shiv Sena controversy case.

The results of NCP party were awaited for many days. NCP President Sharad Pawar himself attended the Election Commission hearing. Apart from this, senior leaders of his group also kept attending this hearing. It was being speculated that the Election Commission would give a different decision from Shiv Sena's result because Shiv Sena chief Bala Saheb Thackeray is not alive, but NCP President Sharad Pawar is alive. Apart from this, he was also attending the hearing. However, the Election Commission has given the same result as it had given in the Shiv Sena party dispute case.

First shock to Uddhav Thackeray and now to Sharad Pawar

In the last two years, many big developments were seen in the politics of Maharashtra. In 2022, due to the rebellion of Eknath Shinde, the two and a half year old Mahavikas Aghadi government fell. After this there was a change of power in the state. Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde rebelled in the party and switched sides along with many MLAs and formed the government with BJP and himself became the Chief Minister.

Shinde faction claimed in the Election Commission that their faction is the real Shiv Sena. After this the matter reached the Election Commission. After hearing several times and examining the facts, the Election Commission considered the Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena. Along with the party, the Election Commission also allotted the Shiv Sena symbol to the Shinde faction.

Ajit Pawar is deputy CM in Shinde government

After this, there was another earthquake in Maharashtra politics on July 2 last year. This time Ajit Pawar rebelled against uncle Sharad Pawar and joined the Shinde government and himself became the Deputy CM. Here also Ajit Pawar described his group as the real NCP. After this the matter reached the Election Commission. Affidavits were also given by both the parties in the Election Commission, after which now the Election Commission has given the decision in favor of Ajit Pawar.

Sharad Pawar group said- will go to Supreme Court

NCP-Sharad Pawar faction leader Jitendra Awhad's reaction has come to light after the Election Commission gave its verdict in favor of Ajit Pawar in the matter of NCP's name and election symbol. He said that he was going to go (in his favor), there is nothing new in this. It is said that piercing the house destroys Lanka. We still hold Ajit Pawar guilty. We are strong in Maharashtra, we have no fear, we have Sharad Pawar. Will challenge the Election Commission's order in the Supreme Court.
