Bollywood / Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani's 'Shershaah' to release in July

Bollywood Desk: It is finally time to rejoice for Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani fans as their highly anticipated film, Shershaah is all set to release. The film starring Sidharth as the PVC Captain Vikram Batra will share the story of the Kargil War hero, who laid down his life to fighting the enemies at the border during the India-Pakistan War back in 1999. Finally, producer Karan Johar announced the release date of the film in a post and revealed that it is all set to release on July 2, 2021. 

Taking to his social media handles, Karan, Sidharth and Kiara shared posters of the film that featured the lead actor in an army uniform. In the posters, we could see Sidharth as Captain Vikram Batra, battling it out at the borders with the other army men during the Kargil War. The film will feature Kiara as Captain Vikram Batra's fiance, Dimple Cheema. While the film was being shot, photos of Kiara, Sidharth and other crew members used to surface on social media and leave fans excited. For his role, Sidharth had undergone weapons training as well. 

Sharing the posters of the film, Karan wrote, "The larger than life untold true story of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) is ready to be unravelled on the big screens. We’re honoured to be showing this journey - #Shershaah in cinemas on 2nd July, 2021, starring Sidharth Malhotra & Kiara Advani. Directed by Vishnu Varadhan. See you at the movies!" Sidharth and Kiara also shared the posters on their social media handles to announce the release of the film. 

Meanwhile, the film has been shot in several locations including Captain Vikram Batra's hometown, Dharamshala, Leh, Ladakh and Kargil. The film has been the talk of the town since its announcement as the leads Sidharth and Kiara are rumoured to be together. It is helmed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Due to the Pandemic, the release was delayed. However, now the new release date has been announced.
