New Delhi : The CBI may investigate the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actress Sonali Phogat. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has indicated this. On Sunday, CM Sawant said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has requested for a CBI inquiry into the alleged murder of Phogat.

He said, “He wants the CBI to take the matter into his own hands. Phogat's family had met CM Khattar. I don't have any problem with it. Today all the formalities will be completed. If necessary, we will hand over the matter to the CBI."

Let us tell you that Sonali Phogat's family met Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at his residence on Saturday and demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder of the actress.

The Goa Police on Saturday arrested the alleged drug smuggler and restaurant owner. Earlier, Phogat's personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his assistant Sukhwinder Singh have been charged with the murder of the 42-year-old actor. Police had said that they made her drink something, after which Phogat's health deteriorated. A CCTV footage of them has also surfaced.

CCTV footage of the restaurant shows a colleague leading Phogat towards the restaurant's bathroom.
