Commenting on the incident, BJP's IT cell head Amit Malviya said, "Bengal is in dire need of world class infrastructure to connect north to south. When it comes to land acquisition for important infrastructure projects like roads and airports, So Mamata Banerjee has been a constant disaster. Now she can't even secure Vande Bharat! Shame on her."

I am from PM Narendra Modi, Indian Railways I request you to hand over the investigation to NIA in this matter.

Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted the first Vande Bharat Express to West Bengal on December 30 after lighting the mother Heera Ben. Vande Bharat has started its journey from 1st January. A day later, on Monday, while coming from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah, someone pelted stones at the train near Malda station. Due to this the door of coach C-13 got damaged. There was chaos in the train after the incident.
