Bihar Elections 2025 / Tejaswi Yadav Declared Mahagathbandhan's CM Face, Vows Strict Action Against Corruption

Tejaswi Yadav, declared as Mahagathbandhan's CM candidate, pledged zero tolerance against corruption and crime, even if it involves his "own shadow." He outlined his vision for a new, developed Bihar and challenged the BJP's 'Jungle Raj' accusations.

Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav was formally announced as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) on Thursday. Following this declaration, Yadav addressed the media, outlining his vision for a "new and developed Bihar" and making a resolute pledge to tackle corruption and crime head-on. He asserted that there would be no compromise on these issues, regardless of the individual involved.

Zero Tolerance for Corruption and Crime

"Even if Tejaswi's shadow commits a wrong deed, Tejaswi will punish it – this is my resolve," Yadav stated emphatically. He directly countered the 'Jungle Raj' allegations often leveled by the BJP, highlighting the rising crime rates under the current government. He pointed out that Bihar witnesses frequent incidents of firing, murders, and rapes, questioning if this wasn't 'Jungle Raj'. Yadav assured the people of Bihar that his government would show no leniency towards criminals and would maintain a firm stance against corruption.

Upholding the Constitution and Reservation

Yadav emphasized his commitment to uniting people from all castes and religions, especially the youth, to build a new Bihar. He criticized the BJP, stating that no one has the power. To change the Constitution, snatch away reservations, or incite Hindu-Muslim riots. He reiterated that he possesses a clear vision for the state's progress. The Mahagathbandhan's CM face stated that he wouldn't govern Bihar alone, but rather the entire state would collectively run the government. "If Tejaswi becomes CM, then all the people of Bihar will become CMs along with him," he proclaimed, reiterating his dream of creating a new and developed Bihar.

Questions Over Nitish Kumar's CM Candidacy

Yadav also raised questions about the NDA's stance on Nitish Kumar's chief ministerial candidacy. He noted that while Mahagathbandhan had jointly declared him as their face, the BJP had not officially named Nitish Kumar as theirs. Citing past statements from Amit Shah, Yadav suggested that the BJP might not. Reinstate Nitish Kumar as CM, hinting that this could be Kumar's "last election.
