Israel-Gaza Conflict: Israeli Ambassador Naor Gilon has said that India stood in support of Israel after the Hamas attack on October 7 and its support is a proof of the very deep ties between the Indian and Jewish people. Gilon made this comment at an event organized by the Israeli Embassy to celebrate Israel's 76th National Day. He said that from October 7, both the Indian government and the public stood in favor of Israel. And we will never forget this. He said in a program that the amount of support we get here is no less than a surprise. This is evidence of the very deep ties between the Indian and Jewish people.

Zero tolerance policy against terrorism

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra also participated in this program. Kwatra said in his address that the terrorist attacks on October 7 had shaken all of us. In a statement issued by the embassy on Wednesday, Kwatra was quoted as saying that India itself is a victim of cross-border terrorism and its attitude towards it has been one of zero tolerance.

India is strict on terrorist attacks

He said that terrorist acts cannot be justified in any way. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the hostages and innocent people killed in these heinous acts. In response to the massive attack on Israeli cities by Hamas on October 7, Israel also launched a large-scale military offensive in Gaza.

Death of thousands of people

Nearly 1,200 people have been killed in Israel due to Hamas action and more than 220 others were abducted. Hamas officials in Gaza claim that more than 30,000 people have been killed in Gaza in the Israeli attack. In his address, Kwatra said that India-Israel partnership has grown rapidly and this is proved by the mutual respect, understanding and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
