Indian Army: The Indian Army is set to take its military capabilities to an unprecedented level. The deadline for the first phase under the Decade of Transformation Action Plan has been set by the end of August 2025. Under this ambitious plan, the army is working rapidly towards making the Divyastra Battery, Bhairav Battalion, and Shaktibaan Regiment fully operational on a war footing. Recently, in Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army gave a befitting reply to the enemy countries by demonstrating its joint combat capability. This success has further accelerated the army's transformation plan.

Joint challenge of China and Pakistan

China has reorganized its military regions into 5 theater commands to further strengthen its military structure. The areas adjoining the Indian border are controlled by the Western Theater Command, in which the Chinese Army and Air Force are deployed in an integrated manner. Additionally, China has transformed many of its military divisions into Combined Armed Brigades (CAB), which are capable of meeting the requirements of modern warfare.

At the same time, Pakistan is also intensifying its military preparations against India on the strength of Chinese weapons. Pakistan is in the process of setting up its Army Rocket Force Command, which will increase its offensive capability. To face the joint challenges of these two countries, the Indian Army is further upgrading its strategy and technology.

Modernization of Artillery: Rise of Divyastra and Shaktibaan

Work is going on rapidly towards modernizing the artillery of the Indian Army. Artillery units are being redesigned with the formation of Divyastra Battery and Shaktibaan Regiment.

Divyastra Battery: This battery will include modern artillery guns as well as loitering munitions and drones. In the first phase, 5 such batteries are being prepared, which will be fully active by August 2025.

Shaktibaan Regiment: In this regiment, only drones and loitering munitions will be used instead of traditional guns. 3 Shaktibaan regiments will be established in the first phase.

Both these units will increase the firepower of the Indian Army manifold and will be able to deal with the challenges of modern warfare.

Bhairav Battalion: The end of the enemy on the borders

In the form of Bhairav Battalion, the Indian Army is preparing a light commando unit, which will act as a link between the Special Forces and Infantry units. In the first phase, 5 Bhairav battalions will be established. These units will focus on fast, precise, and sudden attacks instead of relying on heavy weapons, which will help surprise the enemy.

Additionally, a drone platoon is being added to each infantry battalion of the army. These platoons will be capable of both surveillance and offensive actions. All drone platoons will be fully activated by the end of August 2025.

Rudra Brigade: All Arms Strike Force

After the success of Operation Sindoor, the process of formation of Rudra Brigade has been further accelerated. So far 2 infantry brigades have been converted into All Arms Rudra Brigade. These brigades are based on integrated operations of Infantry, Mechanized Infantry, Tanks, Artillery, Special Forces, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This combined combat power will provide the Indian Army a decisive edge in any situation.
