Madhya Pradesh / The girl used to wet the bed while sleeping the woman stained her genitals

Indore : A nine-year-old adopted girl's genitals were stained by a woman in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, allegedly because she used to wet the bed at night while sleeping. A police officer gave this information on Monday.

Ajay Verma, in-charge of MIG police station, said that in the name of punishment for bed-wetting while sleeping at night, the girl, who was a victim of the alleged torture of a 40-year-old woman, was admitted to the hospital. Verma said that an FIR has been registered against the woman under sections 294 (abusive language), 323 (murder), 324 (intentionally causing hurt by dangerous means) and 506 (intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the station in-charge, the accused woman is a close relative of the victim girl and her family had adopted the girl. He said that the accused has not been formally arrested yet. Meanwhile, Child Welfare Committee chairperson Pallavi Porwal said that the victim girl has serious wounds on her genitals due to burning with some burning object, some hair on her head is uprooted and her body has fingernail marks.

'Cruelty crossed all limits'

Porwal said, 'Looking at the condition of the girl, it seems that the woman who adopted her is a victim of a very perverted mentality which has crossed all limits of cruelty.' The Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee said that the police have registered an FIR against the woman under 'mild' sections and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and other serious provisions should be added in the case. MIG SHO Verma said that on the basis of the statement of the girl and the report of the doctor treating her, appropriate sections would be added in the FIR.
