The noise of campaigning for the assembly elections in the state, which has been going on for almost two months, will stop completely on Friday evening. Out of 54 seats in the seventh and final phase of elections, the campaigning will end at 4 pm in Chakia, Robertsganj and Duddi and the remaining 51 seats at 6 pm.

State Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said that in the seventh phase, polling for 51 seats of Azamgarh, Mau, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra will be held on March 7 from 7 am to 6 pm. While Chakia, Rabatganj and Duddi will vote till 4 pm. Significantly, on January 8, with the announcement of the dates for the assembly elections, the election campaign started.

All the parties in UP have put their full strength for the last phase of election campaign. For the sake of this phase, Prime Minister Modi has camped in Kashi for two days. Apart from PM Modi, Akhilesh Yadav is also campaigning. Leaders of other parties are also leaving no stone unturned to ensure their vote bank in this last phase.

PM Modi did a mega road show yesterday and yesterday Akhilesh also made a big show and felt his power. At the same time, Mayawati is also engaged with enthusiasm for campaigning in the last phase. Since today is the last day of election campaign, all the leaders do not want to keep any stone unturned in garnering votes. According to the instructions of the Election Commission, the campaigning will stop this evening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the public by conducting a road show in Kashi during the day on Friday. In response to this, on Friday night, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav also showed his strength by taking to the road in Samajwadi Vijay Yatra.

Abbas Ansari's election campaign banned for 24 hours

On the report of the RO regarding the FIR registered in the case of making controversial statement of SubhasSP candidate Abbas Ansari from Mau Sadar seat, the Election Commission has banned him from campaigning for 24 hours. Abbas will not be able to go in public for 24 hours.
