Police arrested Tehsildar Padmesh Srivastava and wife posted in Raniganj tehsil on Sunday morning for the murder of female constable Ruchi Singh posted at Lucknow Police Headquarters. After getting information about the matter, there was a stir in the administrative staff. It has come to the fore in the investigation that there was a friendship between the female constable and the Tehsildar through Facebook about five years ago. Slowly the two came closer. After divorcing her husband, the lady constable was pressurizing the Tehsildar for marriage.

On February 17, the body of female constable Ruchi Singh was found in a drain in Lucknow's PGI police station area. She was missing since February 13. Police were looking for him after registering a missing person. According to the police, Ruchi's murder was revealed to be in a love affair. Lucknow Police arrested Tehsildar Raniganj Padmesh Srivastava and his wife from Transit Hostel residence in the city on Monday morning after checking the mobile's call details and interrogating his family members.

Ruchi was related to married Tehsildar Padmesh Srivastava. She had divorced her husband. For several months, Ruchi had been threatening Tehsildar Padmesh by pressurizing her for marriage. She was blackmailing while sending a message on the mobile, due to which the Tehsildar was agitated. Police investigation has also revealed that Tehsildar Raniganj had gone to Lucknow to meet Ruchi a day before the incident. He even stayed with her one day. The love affair between the two was going on for five years. After Ruchi was murdered in her flat, the body was thrown into the drain for disposal. The vehicle used to throw the dead body has also been taken into custody by the police. CO City Abhay Pandey told that Lucknow Police has arrested the Tehsildar and his wife for the murder of female constable and took them with them.

Resident of Prayagraj, was posted in Pratapgarh three years ago

Tehsildar Padmesh Srivastava came to Pratapgarh three years ago by shifting from Kaushambi. His first posting was in Kunda tehsil. After staying there for a few days, he was sent to Lalganj. In January 2021, he was posted from Lalganj to Raniganj tehsil. The accused Tehsildar Padmesh Srivastava is a resident of Prayagraj.

In the love of constable, the crazy Tehsildar had divorced

According to the police, the woman constable Ruchi Singh was originally from Najibabad in Bijnor. She was married to constable Neeraj in June 2019. In December 2019, Ruchi also joined the police, but before that she was already in love with Padmesh Srivastava of Prayagraj. After getting the job, Ruchi reveals her old love. Earlier, she filed a case of dowry harassment against her husband Neeraj. After this, at the behest of Padmesh, a divorce case was filed. After a few months both of them got divorced. After the break-up of the relationship, Padmesh and Ruchi started to mingle freely. Tehsildar Padmesh got Ruchi divorced from her husband.

There was movement of female constable in transit hostel too

After the murder of the female constable, the Lucknow Police, engaged in the investigation, has come to know that Ruchi Singh was also visiting the official residence of Tehsildar Padmesh Srivastava. Since Padmesh's family lived in Prayagraj. Despite being married, Padmesh was in a relationship with Ruchi. He often visited Ruchi on a rented flat in her Sulabh accommodation in Gomtinagar Extension. Not only this, Ruchi also became his wife and lived for several days at his official residence in Pratapgarh. According to the police, Padmesh had assured him that after getting married, both of them would stay there after taking a flat in Lucknow.

Explained overnight, on the second day he escaped after killing the miscreants

According to Lucknow Police, after checking the call details of Ruchi, who was missing since February 13, it was found that she had spoken to Padmesh for the last time. On contacting the family members, it was found that on February 12, Padmesh had come to meet Ruchi. On Sunday, when the police started interrogation by taking Padmesh into custody, it was found that he had stayed with her on the night of February 12. Tried to convince him overnight that his wife was not agreeing to the marriage of both. Ruchi stuck to her insistence. Because of this, on February 13, the Tehsildar got Ruchi Singh killed by a miscreant living in Pratapgarh. The Tehsildar had done some work for the murdered youth. To hide the incident, his body was thrown in the drain.
