After a minor argument in Chandigarh, a youth crushed another youth with a car. The incident took place in Sector-22. The police has arrested the accused car driver. The accused has been identified as Swapan Preet Singh (26), a resident of Gandhi Nangar, Banga, Nawanshahr. The deceased has been identified as Shubham (24), a resident of Daddumajra Colony. The police have also seized the car of the accused.
Sector-17 police station in-charge Om Prakash said that the accused was arrested on the basis of the vehicle number captured in the CCTV footage and the statements of the friend of the deceased. The police is questioning the accused about his other accomplice.
Sector-22 outpost in-charge Suresh Kumar said that late on Friday night Shubham had come to the mobile market of Sector-22 along with his friends. Everyone was coming out of the premises of the liquor store. At the same time, two youths in the Delhi number car had come to get liquor on contract. The outpost in-charge told that they came from a speeding car and hit the brakes. Shubham and his friends got into an argument with him about the same thing. He said what accident will do. Shubham was standing in front of the car.
For some time the driver stopped the car and after some time he overpowered Shubham. The driver picked up Shubham on the bonnet and took him a long way and threw him down. Shubham's friends took Shubham to PGI by auto. The police got information about the matter from PGI. Police reached the spot and started investigation. Shubham died in PGI late on Sunday night. Om Prakash told that the number of Swapnpreet's vehicle is also being investigated. The number on his car is from Delhi while he lives in Nawanshahr.
