India vs Australia: After the World Cup 2023, Team India has to play a five-match T20 series with Australia in October-November. In this series, senior players of Team India can be seen resting. However, this series against Australia will be very important for the preparation of 2024 T20 World Cup. In this series, Team India can take the field with a new captain and head coach.

Big change will be seen in Team India

National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman is likely to be in charge of the Indian team during the five-match T20 series against Australia. Head coach Rahul Dravid's contract will also end with the World Cup and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will have the option to request the former Indian captain to reapply. BCCI will have to invite applications for this post as per the rules.

VVS Laxman may get the responsibility

A BCCI source, on condition of anonymity, said that whenever Rahul has taken a break, VVS Laxman has always been in charge and the same is expected to continue in this series to be held immediately after the World Cup. If applications are invited for the new coach, Laxman would be a strong contender as the BCCI has devised a process where a person who is in charge of the NCA and has knowledge of the entire system is groomed for the role.

These players will get a chance in Australia series

The T20 team against Australia will mostly include those players who were part of the Asian Games team apart from the series against West Indies and Ireland. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav can be seen in the role of captain. Players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be given a break so that they can freshen up for the series against South Africa where India have to play three T20s, as many ODIs and two Tests.
