Union Budget 2023: Finance Minister Nirmala Seemaraman will present the country's general budget on February 1, 2023. This is the last full budget of PM Modi's second term. To give relief from inflation, many important announcements can be made in this budget. Let's know about the team preparing the general budget for 2023-24-

Finance Secretary TV Somanathan is a 1987 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre. He was associated with the PMO from 2015 to 2017. At present, he is handling the responsibility of the Department of Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance. Somanathan is known for his helpful demeanor among his peers.

1987 batch IAS officer Ajay Seth is also going to play an important role in this budget. He is the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs. For this reason, he has been given the responsibility of analyzing all the advice and recommendations related to the budget and finalizing the financial statement.

Tuhin Kant Pandey, Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, has been given the responsibility of preparing the government's disinvestment program for the financial year 2023. He is a 1987 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre. He has played an important role in bringing the IPO of LIC.

Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Sanjay Malhotra has been given the responsibility of fixing the revenue estimate. Earlier he has been the chairman and MD of REC Limited, a government company. His strategy will benefit from the visible boom in tax collection.

Vivek Joshi, currently holding the responsibility of Secretary, Financial Services, was earlier the Registrar General and Senses Commissioner in the Home Ministry. Joshi is the new face in the Finance Ministry. Earlier, he has also been the CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority.

V Ananth Nageswaran was appointed Chief Economic Advisor just a few days before the budget was presented last year. Nageswaran, an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, completed his PhD in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amrest.
