Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Zaka Ashraf will reach Ahmedabad on Thursday for the World Cup match against arch-rivals India on Saturday. Earlier it was confirmed that media personnel from Pakistan have received approval to submit their passports for visas for World Cup coverage. Around 60 journalists from Pakistan have applied for visas and any further delay would have meant that they would not have been able to cover the match.

Zaka Ashraf said in a PCB press release that I have delayed my tour to India after confirming that Pakistani journalists have been asked to submit their passports for visas to cover this tournament. I will travel tomorrow now. I am glad that my discussions with the Foreign Office helped achieve a good outcome on the visa delay.

The Indian team will play against England on October 29 at the Atal Bihari Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. According to media reports, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak may come to Lucknow to watch the match, but this has not been officially confirmed yet.
