A major success has been achieved in the encounter between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces have succeeded in killing three terrorists. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the spot. The search operation is on.

According to news agency ANI, the encounter between terrorists and security forces is going on in Nowgam area of ​​Srinagar. So far three terrorists have been killed. Incriminating material including arms and ammunition have been recovered from the spot.

Encounter Lashkar terrorist killed in Awantipora

Earlier, a terrorist was killed in an encounter by security forces at Awantipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. A local terrorist belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba has been identified as Owais. One AK-56 rifle, 3 AK magazines and 80 AK rounds besides incriminating material, arms and explosive material have been recovered from the encounter site.

According to the police, the security forces had received information that some terrorists were present in Charsu village of Awantipora. On the basis of information, a joint team of security forces started a search operation in the area on Tuesday morning. As the search party moved towards a suspicious spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire indiscriminately.

One terrorist was killed in retaliation by the security forces. His body was recovered from the spot. The slain terrorist has been identified as Subhanpora, a resident of Owais Raja. According to police records, the slain terrorist was associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. He was involved in several cases including attacks on police and other security forces and atrocities on civilians.

Encounter near highway

Kashmir Range IG Vijay Kumar described the operation as very important as it was carried out very close to the National Highway. There was a lot of danger in it. Police have registered a case in this regard and started investigation. The police have appealed to the people not to go near the encounter site till the investigation is done.
