MI vs RR: In the 1000th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 wickets. In a thrilling match, Mumbai needed 17 runs in the last over. In front of Jason Holder, Tim David gave the team victory by hitting 3 sixes in the first 3 balls. 21-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal from Rajasthan scored the first century of his career. He played an inning of 124 runs off 62 balls. Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai scored 55 off 29 balls.

Rohit's wicket lost in powerplay

Chasing the target of 213 runs, Mumbai got off to a bad start. The team lost the wicket of captain Rohit in the very second over. From here Ishaan Kishan and Cameron Green took over the innings and the team scored 58 runs in 6 overs.

Yashasvi scored a century on 53 balls

Yashasvi Jaiswal started attacking from the initial overs. After sharing a 71-run partnership with Jos Buttler, he batted till the last over and took the team's score past 200. Yashasvi scored the first century of IPL career on 53 balls, he was dismissed after scoring 124 runs in 62 balls. In this innings he hit 16 fours and 8 sixes, his strike rate was 200.

Third century of IPL 2023

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the third century of IPL 2023. Before him, Kolkata's Venkatesh Iyer scored 104 against Mumbai and Hyderabad's Harry Brook scored 100 against Kolkata. Both made the 5th Fifty partnership of the season in the 5th over itself and in 6 overs the team's score reached 65 runs without loss.

Butler left in review

Butler was adjudged caught out by the umpire on Cameron Green's ball in the third over of the first innings. Butler took the review, replays showed that the ball did not take the edge of the bat. Umpire changed his decision and Butler remained not out. However, he could not take much advantage of Jeevandan and got out after scoring 18 runs in the 8th over.

Rajasthan's wickets fell like this...

First: Piyush Chawla bowled the first ball of the 8th over to a good length on the middle stump. Jos Buttler is caught at long on. He scored 18 runs off 19 balls.

Second: 5th ball of the 10th over bowled good length at leg stump. Sanju Samson caught at deep mid-wicket, scored 14 runs off 10 balls.

Third: Piyush Chawla bowled the fifth ball of the 11th over, Devdutt Padikkal bowled. He scored 2 runs.

Fourth: The first ball of the 15th over, Joffra Archer bowled a short pitch on the off stump. Jason Holder is caught at long off, he scores 11 runs.

Fifth: Second ball of the 17th over, Arshad Khan bowled a slower ball. Shimron Hetmyer caught at deep mid-wicket, scored 8 runs.

Sixth: The first ball of the 18th over, Riley Meredith bowled a fuller length, Dhruv Jurel was caught at deep mid-wicket. He scored 2 runs.

1000th match of IPL

The match between Mumbai and Rajasthan is the 1000th match in IPL history. Mumbai is the most successful team of IPL. The team has won the IPL trophy a total of five times in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. And Rajasthan is the champion of the first season of IPL.
