Atal Setu Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to be on a tour of Maharashtra today where he will gift the country's longest sea bridge to the country's financial capital Mumbai. The approximately 22 kilometer long Atal Bridge which the PM is going to inaugurate today is going to be the longest bridge in India. Today PM Modi will also inaugurate the 27th Youth Festival in Nashik. Along with this, there will also be a road show of PM after which he will visit the famous Kalaram temple of Nashik. Apart from this, in a public program in Navi Mumbai, PM will gift many development projects to the entire Maharashtra including Mumbai.

Atal Setu will become a gamechanger, distance of 2 hours will be covered in 15 minutes

MTHL i.e. Mumbai Transharbor Link has been named 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari- Nhava Sheva Atal Setu'. The special thing is that the foundation stone of this bridge was also laid by Prime Minister Modi in December 2016 and as per his promise, the PM is also inaugurating it today. PM Modi is emphasizing on improving the 'ease of mobility' of citizens with the aim of easing urban traffic, strengthening transport infrastructure and connectivity.

Atal Setu is going to connect Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport.

More than 70 thousand vehicles can move traffic every day on this six-lane bridge.

Trains will run on the bridge at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, due to which the journey of hours will be completed in minutes.

At the same time, motorcycles, mopeds, three-wheelers, autos and tractors will not be allowed to enter this bridge.

It will take only 15-20 minutes to cover the distance from South Mumbai to Navi Mumbai through the approximately 22 km long bridge.

This will save more than one and a half to two hours of time.

Not only this, according to an estimate, each vehicle will save fuel worth about Rs 300.

Special care has been taken of the environment while building this bridge.

Apart from six lanes, arrangements have also been made for one exit line on both sides.

Also, this bridge is equipped with 190 CCTV cameras with artificial intelligence.

How much did it cost to make it?

The length of this bridge, which will further increase the speed of Mumbai, is about 16.5 km on the sea and about 5.5 km on land. It is believed that with the construction of this bridge, the path to building a third Mumbai after Mumbai and Navi Mumbai will become easier. Atal Setu is not only the longest bridge in India, it is also the 12th longest sea bridge in the world, which was built at a cost of Rs 17,840 crore. Atal Setu will not only bring two big cities closer but will also make the journey of Mumbaikars thrilling and beautiful due to its excellent design, marine beauty and exotic flamingos.

Inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects worth more than Rs 30 thousand 500 crores

Today, along with the inauguration of this magnificent bridge built in Mumbai, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many development projects worth more than Rs 30 thousand 500 crore in Maharashtra. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the underground road tunnel connecting Orange Gate of the Eastern Freeway to Marine Drive. He will inaugurate 'Bharat Ratnam' and New Enterprises and Services Tower One in SEEPZ SEZ as an important step to promote the gems and jewelery sector. Along with this, Namo Women Empowerment Campaign will also be started in Maharashtra in the direction of women empowerment.

PM Modi's program today-

  • During his Maharashtra tour today, the PM will first inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik at 12 noon on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
  • The theme of this festival is - Developed India 2047.. 'For the youth, by the youth'.
  • After inaugurating the Youth Festival, the PM will hold a 1.5 kilometer long road show.
  • By doing a road show, he will worship at Ram Ghat of Godavari river. Along with this, PM will visit the historical Kalaram temple.
  • After the inauguration of the Youth Festival and road show in Nashik, the PM will come to Mumbai where he will dedicate the longest sea bridge to India's most populous city at 3.30 pm.
  • After the inauguration of Atal Setu, PM will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several development projects costing more than Rs 12,700 crore at a public event in Navi Mumbai at 4.15 pm.
