Mumbai News: The country's longest sea crossing bridge is ready. It will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12. Earlier this bridge was to be inaugurated on December 25, the birthday of former Prime Minister of the country Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but due to non-completion of the work of the bridge, the inauguration was postponed. Let us tell you that the construction work of this bridge passing through the sea started in 2018, which was to be completed in 4.5 years, but due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it took 8 months more to complete.

The country's longest sea-passing bridge has been built in Mumbai. The total length of this bridge is 21.8 km, out of which 16.5 km of the bridge passes through the sea. The name of this bridge is Mumbai Trans Harbor Link which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 January 2024.

Where will this bridge connect?

The country's longest sea bridge will start from Sewri on National Highway 4B and will have interchanges at Shivaji Nagar, Jassi and Chirle. This bridge will also be connected to Mumbai Pune Expressway in the coming days. 5.5 km part of this bridge is on the ground. The testing of this bridge has been going on for the last several days which has been successful.

A 16.5 km portion of this bridge passes through the sea and a 5.5 km portion passes through the land. Mumbai Trans Harbor Link Bridge has 6 lanes, out of which 3 lanes will be for coming and 3 lanes for going. Vehicles will be able to run at a speed of 100 km per hour on this bridge. Also, more than 70 thousand vehicles will be able to pass through it every day. The total cost of this bridge is Rs 17,843 crore and cameras equipped with artificial intelligence have been installed for monitoring it, which will help in providing information and controlling the vehicles.
