Delhi / Two foreign women arrested with cocaine worth 10 crores, 1850 kg of drugs recovered

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted an international gang supplying cocaine and arrested two foreign women. This gang operated from South America. Along with this, drug smugglers of the gang's network are active in the surrounding areas including Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Delhi.

1850 kg of best quality cocaine has been recovered from the possession of the accused. The value of the seized cocaine is said to be around Rs 10 crore. This is being described as the biggest seizure of cocaine in the history of the last ten years of Delhi Police.

Special Cell's Counter Intelligence (CI) DCP Manishi Chandra said that the arrested drug traffickers have been identified as Maurey Erna Gangadian (45) resident of Quta, South America, and Namubiru Janat alias Lisa (35) resident of Uganda, Suriname. Namubiru was living in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The CI had received information on February 14 that a foreign woman had come to Delhi with a consignment of cocaine. On the basis of this information, the team of Inspector Vikram Dahiya and Sandeep Dabas posted in CI raided the hotel located in Karol Bagh and arrested Maurya Erna Gangadian, a woman from Suriname.

She was staying in the hotel since February 11. One kg of best quality cocaine was recovered from his possession. He had packed the cocaine in the women's purse. The accused woman revealed during interrogation that she had come to India to supply cocaine on the instructions of Suriname-based operators. The woman also revealed that she had also given a part of the cocaine consignment to Lisa, a foreigner living in Navi Mumbai.

Investigation revealed that she has come to South Delhi. After this, Lisa was arrested from South Delhi when she was going to give a consignment of cocaine to someone. Cocaine is fine quality cocaine of South American origin.
