Delhi: Amidst protests in Bihar over the Agneepath scheme, miscreants completely destroyed the Vikramshila train. The miscreants had reached the station with matches. Some students bought matches from a shop near platform number two of the station itself and first set the sheet of AC third tier and the sheet-pillow kept in it on fire. Due to the AC bogie, the fire caught fast and one by one, 23 coaches of Vikramshila got blown up. The bogies in which the fire could not be caught properly, the miscreants tried again and set them on fire. The passengers present there were also seen in panic about the flames and the AC cylinders being blasted continuously. However, seeing the flames rising rapidly in the train, the passengers thought it appropriate to leave for their destination in the passenger vehicle itself.

Blankets and bed sheets set on fire

At around 8.30, the students targeted the AC third tier bogie and set fire to the seat of the coach and the blanket and pillow kept in the bogie with matchsticks. As the doors of all the bogies were in contact with each other, fire broke out in 15 bogies one by one. At the same time, in the last two bogies, students and some local anti-social elements set on fire after looting. Meanwhile, there was panic among the passengers. Some passengers are also reported to be injured. Mobiles of more than two dozen passengers making videos have been broken, while many passengers were also beaten up fiercely.

Nine number of food stalls, chairs, foot over bridges, passenger sheds, pew etc. were damaged and ruined at the station. Students arriving from different parts of the city and rural areas first targeted the Vikramshila Express parked at Lakhisarai station. Vikramshila's loco pilot Sushil Kumar was injured in the students' attack. His head exploded. The students started vandalizing the trains as soon as the driver came out of the engine. Meanwhile, the station was also heavily vandalized.

Vikramshila Express train may be canceled for two days

It is worth noting that Vikramshila Express has three rakes. A rack was burnt. Hence its operation will be affected. According to the railway workers of Bhagalpur, the train can be canceled for two days in a week. Since this is LHB rake and such number of LHB bogies are not in spare. According to SK Tiwari, Senior DME of Malda Railway Division, rakes of many trains have been burnt. Operations are being discussed. Can be canceled for a day or two. Checking will be done after the rack arrives. It will be seen how many coaches need to be changed. For the next day i.e. Saturday, one rack of Vikramshila is available in Bhagalpur.

Till the time the police-administration sent the students here after understanding, the public service standing on the outer was also set on fire by the students, making them a victim. Here the clips of the tracks were also opened. Senior officers or senior police officers of this railway were not seen. On behalf of the district administration, DM Sanjay Kumar Singh and SP Pankaj Kumar took charge and after talking to the furious students, the students were sent back from the station after requesting them. However, later the students returned after a large number of police forces and administrative officials were deployed from Lakhisarai station to outer.

Fiercely vandalized at Lakhisarai station

Hundreds of students, who reached Lakhisarai station at seven in the morning, not only ransacked the station, but also set on fire the Vikramshila Express stationed at the station. The students' protest lasted for nearly five hours and railway assets were badly damaged. Seven bogies including 23 of Vikramshila, engine of Janseva were set ablaze. While the clips of the tracks were opened, there was a lot of uproar at Lakhisarai station too.
