IPL 2022 | A big and bad news has come out for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have registered two consecutive wins in IPL 2022. Sunrisers Hyderabad may have registered a massive eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans on Monday, but Kane Williamson and his team have suffered a major setback after this victory. The team's star spinner Washington Sundar could be out of the tournament for almost two weeks due to injury. Sundar was injured during Gujarat's innings and then left the field after that. All-rounder Sundar could bowl only three overs and walked off the field. Aiden Markram completed his over instead.

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody told a post-match press conference that Sundar could be out of the team for at least 1-2 weeks. He said, 'Washington Sundar has an injury on his right hand. We are going to keep a watch on it for the next two-three days and hopefully it will not be a big shock. I think it will probably take a week or two for him to recover.'

Washington has been in good form this season. Along with being a wicket-taking option in the powerplays, he was contributing well with the bat down the order. In his absence, now Hyderabad may have to change their combination and Shreyas Gopal and Jagdish Susith may be included in the playing XI.

After Sundar, Rahul Tripathi also got injured.

After the injury of Washington Sundar, Rahul Tripathi also got injured while batting. He had to leave the field in the 14th over due to a hamstring injury and was replaced by Nicholas Pooran. In fact, after hitting a six on the very first ball of Rahul Tewatia, who came to bowl the 14th over, Rahul lay down on the ground immediately after playing the shot on the second ball. He was in pain due to hamstrings. Rahul again had to retire hurt.
