T20 World Cup | Pakistan captain Babar Azam on Sunday, after thrashing India for the first time in the history of the World Cup, said that his players executed every strategy well and credit goes to the entire team for the win. In the T20 World Cup 2021, the Indian cricket team suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat against Pakistan in Group-2 of Super 12 in a high-voltage match. With this defeat, India's record of being unbeaten against Pakistan in the World Cup has been broken. For the first time in any format of the World Cup, Pakistan's team has defeated India and that too a crushing defeat. Batting first, India lost the toss and put 151 runs on the scoreboard, in response to which Pakistan achieved the target without losing any wicket with 13 balls to spare.

Babar Azam said after the match, 'We executed our strategy well. The way Shaheen (Shah Afridi) started, it boosted our morale. The spinners handled the situation well in the middle overs and our bowlers did not let them play freely in the death overs. The ball was coming well on the bat after the dew effect. We had prepared well and each of our players contributed 100 per cent. It is just the beginning of the tournament and we have to take the upcoming matches very seriously. We will try to give 100 per cent in every match. We were not paying attention to the things that had passed. We had prepared very well. All our players gave their 100 per cent on the field today and we were successful.

Actually the Indian team lost to only three players from Pakistan. Apart from the batsmen Babar and Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi is also included in the bowling. Afridi also made Virat Kohli his third victim after dismissing Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul within the first three overs. Kohli was not dismissed even once in the T20 World Cup against Pakistan before this match, but Afridi broke this record. Afridi has now become the first Pakistani bowler, who has dismissed Kohli in the T20 World Cup.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi took three wickets for 31 runs and was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling. He said that by getting wickets in the beginning, he was able to hold on to the match. Afridi said, “This is the first time we have beaten India and we are proud of it. I knew it would be good for us if we get wickets early on. My effort was to get as much swing as possible. The new ball was tough to play, so credit goes to Babar and Rizwan.
