Iran has claimed that it has built weapons factories in several countries. Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said that these factories could be in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen. Iran has changed its defense priorities after the recent war with Israel. The ceasefire was brokered by America.

Iran-Israel Conflict: Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh recently made a sensational claim that Iran has set up weapons factories and infrastructure in several countries. The statement comes two months after the 12-day war with Israel in June 2025. Nasirzadeh said details of these factories would be made public soon. Experts believe these facilities could possibly be in countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen, which are areas of influence of Iran.

Defense strategy changed after the war

Nasirzadeh said the recent conflict with Israel has changed Iran's defense priorities. Now Iran's focus is not limited to missiles only, but it is focusing on broader military capabilities. During the war, Israel also targeted Nasirzadeh's office, making the need for a change in Iran's strategy more clear.

Iran's claim: Israel would have surrendered in 15 days

Nasirzadeh claimed that if the June 2025 war had lasted 15 days, the Israeli army would have been unable to stop Iranian missiles. He said that Israel's missile defense system would have completely failed in the last three days of the war. Because of this, a ceasefire had to be brokered by the US. Nasirzadeh also revealed that Iran refrained from using its state-of-the-art Qasim Basir missile, a medium-range ballistic missile with a range of 12 km. In addition, Iran tested new warheads last year, which have now been further upgraded.

Military exercise with Oman

On August 21, 2025, Iran conducted joint military exercises with Oman, its first military exercise since the war with Israel. During this, the Iranian Navy tested cruise missiles in the Gulf of Oman and the North Indian Ocean. This exercise reflects Iran's growing military strength and regional cooperation.

Israel-Iran War: A Brief Overview

On June 13, 2025, Israel launched airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities and military bases, killing more than 1,000 people, including top Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists. In response, Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks, killing dozens of Israeli civilians. A ceasefire was signed between the two countries on June 24, but the conflict proved to further escalate regional tensions.

Axis of Resistance: Iran's Military Alliance

The Axis of Resistance is an informal political and military alliance led by Iran. It aims to counter Western and Israeli influence in the Middle East and increase its power in the region. The alliance includes several militant organizations from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine, including Hezbollah, Houthi rebels, and Hamas. The alliance is an important part of Iran's regional strategy, which makes its claim of setting up weapons factories abroad more credible.
