Apart from this, the patient child also gets high fever when infected with this disease. Children who get infected with tomato flu have severe body and joint pain along with dehydration problem.

According to the report of the Lancet, the outbreak of this flu started from Kerala in May. Due to the outbreak of this disease in Kerala, there was an alert in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well. At the same time, 26 children have been reported to be infected with it at the Regional Medical Research Center in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It is a matter of relief that till now, apart from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, its cases have not been registered in any other state of the country.
