Lok Sabha Elections: Congress is going to launch its Lok Sabha election campaign from Nagpur on Thursday. Today is the 139th foundation day of Congress. During this time, the party is busy in making the huge rally to be held in Nagpur historic. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has planned to set the agenda for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by starting the Congress election campaign in Durg Nagpur. This mega rally will be addressed by Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, while the visit of Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi has been cancelled.

Only 3 to 4 months are left for the Lok Sabha elections. Congress has lost two consecutive Lok Sabha elections and in the recent elections in five states, it has also lost its government in two states. Congress is going through the worst phase in its history. All the big leaders of the party have left and the political base has also slipped.

At present, Congress is in power in three states on its own and is included as an ally in three states. In such a situation, the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have become a do or die situation for the Congress. This is the reason why Congress has formed INDIA alliance with all the opposition parties to compete with BJP.

Announcement of general election themes and issues

After losing power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Congress has made a strategy to start the 2024 election campaign by holding a rally in the stronghold of BJP's ideological organization RSS. In this way, Congress is trying to show that it is fully prepared to fight BJP at the ideological level.

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that on the Foundation Day, we all together want to give a message to the country that the Congress Party is never going to bend from its ideology and will move forward from its ideology. This is the message we want to give from Nagpur. Congress leader Pawan Kheda also said that Nagpur is a historical place. The roots of Congress became stronger from here, originated from here and progressed from here. Maharashtra and Nagpur have a huge contribution in the organization of Congress.

Congress is making these allegations against BJP

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan says that he will give a strong reply to BJP by holding a rally on Sangh land. This is the first time that Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are going to be seen together in Nagpur. 247 prominent leaders, most of the MPs and about 300 out of 600 MLAs are likely to attend the rally. The party has hoped that at least 10 lakh people will gather in this mega rally.

Congress leader Chavan says that the present BJP government has failed to solve all the problems including unemployment, inflation and farmer suicides and to provide relief to the people. Congress wants to give a strong message to the BJP led central government through this rally. This is the reason why Nagpur has been chosen for the rally. The party has already given the slogan 'Naarap Hain Hum', which is making its intentions clear.

Announcement of theme and issues of general elections is possible

Regarding the Congress rally in Nagpur, Congress MP Manikam Tagore said, 'An organization which creates and spreads hatred is based in Nagpur. The headquarters of an organization called RSS is in Nagpur. The Congress Party will show that hatred should end in India and we should spread love and affection for every Indian, this is the message. Today is the 139th foundation day of the Congress Party. Yesterday Congress announced that the Bharat Nyay Yatra which is going to start from Imphal from January 14 will change the party's position in the elections to be held next year. India alliance will win in Delhi in 2024.

Congress has also given the slogan 'We are ready for Nagpur Maharally'. Party leaders and workers from different provinces of the country are also reaching Nagpur. The theme and issues of the general elections are likely to be announced in the rally. After the mega rally, Kharge will hold a meeting with general secretaries and state in-charges, where the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections will be discussed. In this way, Congress wants to kill many birds with one stone by blowing the trumpet of 2024 election campaign from Nagpur.

Congress's special focus on Maharashtra

On the one hand, Congress is holding the rally in Nagpur because of Sangh being its stronghold and on the other hand, it is seeing hope of its comeback in Maharashtra. Assembly elections are to be held after the Lok Sabha, hence a plan has been made to conclude Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Nyay Yatra in Mumbai, whereas earlier it was to be held in Gujarat. In this way, Congress has special focus on Maharashtra.

In fact, after Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra has the highest number of Lok Sabha seats. There are 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP followed by 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. Congress has joined hands with Sharad Pawar's NCP and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. BJP is already struggling with the challenge of Maratha reservation in the state and now OBCs are also demanding caste census. Especially the ministers and leaders in the BJP government are raising this demand, which can become a cause of concern for the BJP. Keeping all these equations in mind, Congress has made a strategy to set the narrative at an ideological level not only in Maharashtra but in the country by starting the election campaign from Maharashtra.
