Aligarh Muslim University / Who will become the VC of AMU? These three names were approved in the meeting

Aligarh Muslim University: The AMU court meeting has finalized three names for the new VC in Aligarh Muslim University. Now these will be sent to the President for approval. From there the name will be finalized. He will become the Vice Chancellor of AMU. Today, on 6th November, there were intense movements throughout the day. These days the process for the election of the new Vice Chancellor is going on in the university. In this connection, AMU court meeting was held today.

The meeting started from 11 am today. The agenda of the meeting was to prepare a panel of three names for the new VC. This panel will then be sent to Rashtrapati Bhavan. From there, President Draupadi Murmu will decide on one name from these panels and he will become the new VC of Aligarh Muslim University.

Voting was conducted at the end of the AMU court meeting. The Executive Council of the University had prepared a panel of five names. All 84 members of the court voted. In which many MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha also participated. Mahesh Sharma, Rajveer Singh, Satish Gautam, Bhola Singh, Harnath Singh Yadav, Ghulam Ali Khatana and Rajendra Aggarwal cast their votes from BJP. While CPI(M) MP AA Rahim, Congress's Imran Pratapgarhi and BSP's Danish Ali voted. On the basis of voting, a panel of three people was prepared.

These three names became final

Muzaffar Uruj Rabbani got the maximum votes in the AMU court meeting. 61 votes were cast in his favor, while Professor Faizan Mustafa got 53 and Prof. Naima Gulrez got 50 votes. After the voting, it has been decided to send the panel of these three to the President. This means that one of them will now be the new Vice Chancellor of AMU.

These names were left out of the panel

Furkan Qamar got only 45 votes and Qayum Hussain got only 43 votes. Therefore, the names of both of them have been removed from the panel. The post of Vice Chancellor in Aligarh Muslim University is vacant since the resignation of Tariq Mansoor. Dr. Mansoor is now the national vice president of BJP. He has also been made a member of the Legislative Council in UP. Mansoor's group is lobbying for Naima Gulrez for VC. Naima's husband Mohammad Gulrez is currently the acting VC of the university.
