Quoting an official, PTI has reported that America's electric car company Tesla is 'silent'. It has not yet informed the government about its India plans under the new EV policy.

Elon Musk was to come to India in April

The company's founder and CEO Elon Musk was scheduled to visit India on 21-22nd in April this year. He was also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but his visit was canceled at the last moment. He cited Tesla's important responsibilities as the reason for this.

Whereas before this, regarding his visit to India, he had written on 'X', "I am looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India."

When PM Modi visited America in June last year, he met with Elon Musk. Elon Musk had said that he planned to visit India in 2024. Also expressed confidence that Tesla will soon enter the Indian market.

However, in the month of April, Tesla laid off a large number of employees. However, despite this, Elon Musk visited China. The company manufactures its cars on a large scale in China.

Government has no information

According to the report, when asked by the official whether Tesla has told the government about its plans, the official said, “They (Tesla) are just silent… The (EV) policy was always for everyone.” Business decisions are announced by companies, not the government. There has been no response to the questions sent to Tesla regarding this via e-mail.
